What is a Non-Molestation Order?

A non-molestation order is a type of injunction to prohibit an abuser from using or threatening physical violence, intimidating, harassing, pestering or communicating with their victim. This protection order is aimed to help and support victims of domestic abuse preventing the abuser coming within a certain distance of the victim, the victims home or place of work. In certain circumstances, it can also include abuse against children. It is a criminal offence to breach this order.

Restraining orders can be obtained for an abuser who is convicted of a criminal offence.
